    Kickin it at the Capital...

    Hey everyone,

Just a little update and a few thoughts running hrough my head too. First, today was absolutely one of the highlights of my college life thus far. Today, I went with the guys to D.C. and had fun going around checkin out our nation's capital. We saw a lot of monuments and tributes, but the best and most meaningful to me was the WWII memorial. My grandfather fought in the war, so it was especially meaningful to me to be able to see the tribute to those in the war. Also, we saw the Vietnam War Memorial and, while I don't have anyone I know on the list of names enscribed into the wall, I was still deeply impacted by seeing al the names of the fallen and lost soldiers from Vietnam. It's hard because I have no words to even try and identify with what those families have gone through, and yet I try to extend sympathies that I cannot comprehend to the families of those from the war. I only can express my deepest gratitude to those that fought in all of the wars and try to make good use of the liberty and freedom they died protecting for me.

Ok, after we finished looking at the memorials and monuments, we all headed to Johnny Rockets for dinner, which was really good . The burgers and fries were incredible, all around good meal. Then, we went and saw a hockey game: Washing Capitals vs. the Boston Bruins. What a game!!! The Capitals scored 6 goals in the first period alone and Ovechkin got a hat trick in the first period!! For those that don't know, most days it's tough to even get 3 goals in a game, and you don't often see a player getting a hat trick during an entire game, so it was an exciting game. The Capitals ended up winning 10-2!!! Really good game...

Then, we came back to RJ's house and were chillin out talkin and shootin the breeze, I guess it's called. We talked about a lot of different stuff, but one of the topics was the difficulty of people asking each other out, which is the topic I don't want to rant about, but just pose a few questions that came to mind. Why is it so hard? Is it that difficult to just ask someone to go grab dinner and just chill out for awhile? I honestly don't believe that the social pressure makes everything worse; that's a bunch of junk. I could be wrong, but has society placed a mindset on us that it's wrong for two people to just go and chill without the pressure of "Does he/she like me?" I recently talked a friend of mine, from the south, who said he can't ask his girl friend (not girlfriend) to go out to dinner because all of their friends would assume they are starting to date. Is that wrong? And what if they are interested?

My view has always been the same and will be until God shows me otherwise: There is nothing wrong wih asking a girl to go out to dinner and chill for awhile. Life is not as much WHAT you know as much as WHO you know. One thing I've learned recently is that life is all about relationships. God showed it when He created a wife for Adam. If you've made it this far and feel like leaving a comment or two to let me know what you think, I'd love to hear from you. Otherwise, I hope you've had fun seeing what's going on with the guys from SCUF and I'll look forward to hearing from you about your Spring Break.

    Striving for Him,

                              Chris

p.s. This is a great song. If you want to know what I'd love for life to be like, listen to this song. Sittin on a porch drinkin ice cold chery coke, yeah baby...

Wow, it's been way too long...

So, I took a hiatus from here for awhile because I spent too much time on it, but I'm back now. I think this will be a healthy way for me to just express what I'm feeling and thinking about each day. If you're interested in reading it, then great, but if you're not, that's cool too. Anyway, here's what's on for today:

Trust. So simple, and yet so complicated at the same time. So hard to build up and so easy to lose. With people anyway. But you know what? God expects us to trust Him every single day, and without question. I am expected to constantly trust that, no matter what happens, everything is in God's ultimate plan and for His glory. It's so hard sometimes! But I keep telling myself that it could be a lot worse. God has given me so much and given me no reason not to trust Him, and yet I still try to do things my way. It's a process of learning, but I am more than ready to go the distance to learn what it means to truly trust God with everything and allow Him to show me a world I could never have dreamed of without Him.

Trust. So simple, and yet so complicated.....

    It's been awhile...

...but I'm back. School was crazy this semester, but here's a short recap:

-Applied for, and was accepted to, ten24, the coolest group on campus hands down! I'm so excited about this because I want to be able to use the people-skills I have to make an impact for Him. Only problem? You need a 2.5 gpa to be in ten24. My gpa? 2.35, which leads to the next point...

-This semester's gpa: 3.2!  It pulled my gpa up to a 2.52 overall, so I am definitely in for next year. Now, as far as the summer goes...

-I'll be working maintenance this summer. I'm extremely bummed to not be able to work CHOF this summer as a counselor again, but I need money for a car, and CHOF was only running five weeks, which was not enough. This maintenance job is a blessing from God, though, and I'm excited to be spending time with my family and friends.

-I'm going to be in the best hall on Cedarville campus this fall!! We have such a great group of guys, strong in God's Word and His truth, and great guys all around to be with. I couldn't be more excited about it, and am looking forward to the inevitably amazing times we'll have this fall

Finally, I'm becoming more and more content with where God has me. Yeah, I have a lot of friends that are either getting married, going off to great jobs, or traveling the world, but God has me where I'm at for a reason, and so I'll shine as brightly for Him as I possibly can!

p.s. I'm listenin to Lone Ranger by Nate Sallie, it's an amazing song! It's right where I was for a major part of this past semester. Trying to do things myself but, like Sallie says, I don't ever wanna be alone again...

    Hit em low,

    Hit em high

    And watch our Eagles flyyyyy!!!

    Fly, Eagles, fly

    On the road   to    vic-tohh-ryyyy!!

    E-A-G-L-E-S Eagles!!!!!

For those who didn't know, the Eagles defeated the Dallas Cowboys 23-7 and clinched the NFC East Divisional title for the '06-'07 NFL season!!! Man, it was an intense game, but the defense, who has been criticized more than anyone for not stepping up the first half of the season, finally has stepped up and put the Birdies in the playoffs!! I won't go into the details since I couldn't do them justice, but it's good to see the Eagles still scrapping out wins against teams that are tough!

Christmas has been awesome today. I have loved being with my family over break and getting to take a deep sigh of relief every day of break so far. I have been trying to work out, only because I feel like it's the most productive thing I can do. I've tried reading, but I never seem to be able to read long enough before something comes up. Anyway, let me know how your breaks are going, and I cannot wait to see you all in January of 'o7!! Go Buckeyes!! Show dem Gators how college football is really played!!!

Wow, definitely haven't updated in awhile, but I'll do my best to kind of sum things up. First of all, Shannon and I broke up. As much as I think I should be depressed and all, I cannot for two main reasons. First, my exams this week are too important to distract myself with it, especially in a semester where my gpa now determines what I need next semester for the TEP. Second, and more importantly, I feel like this is the decision God wanted me to make. I'km excited to see where God is going to take me and lead me to in the next couple of months, and looking forward to developing friendships with people I haven't gotten the time to sit and chat with in awhile. Anyway, I hope everything is going well, my EAGLES are 7-6 and still in first in the NFC Wild Card Race!!!!!! GO EAGLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

p.s. This is an awesome song whether your day is going well or bad, it really perks you up!!
